Privacy

This notice explains what personal information DoAnythingNow Ltd collects through this website, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.

Who we are

DoAnythingNow Ltd is registered in England and Wales, company number 14656646. We decide how the information described here is used, which makes us its controller under UK data protection law.

For anything about your information, email dan@doanythingnow.org.

Visit statistics

We count visits with Vercel Web Analytics, run by our hosting provider, Vercel, and served from this website's own address. It stores nothing on your device. Each visit is recognised by a code made from the request, which is discarded after 24 hours, so it cannot follow you from day to day or across other websites. For each page view it records the page, the website that sent you, your approximate location, and your browser, operating system and type of device. We see only totals, never individuals. Vercel also keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses, to deliver the site and keep it secure.

Cookies

This website loads no third-party scripts and sets no analytics or marketing cookies. If you unlock the Skills Directory, it sets one cookie, called dan_skills. It holds a random code that shows you have unlocked the directory, and nothing about you. It lasts 12 months and is only sent to the directory's own pages. It is strictly necessary for the service you asked for, so it does not need your consent.

If you sign in to the members' area, it sets dan_member, a strictly necessary sign-in cookie that is removed when you sign out.

The Skills Directory

When you unlock the Skills Directory we collect your first name, your email address and, if you give it, your phone number. We also record which of the two boxes you ticked, the version of their wording you saw, and the date and time.

We use your details to open the directory for you and to send you one email with your link. Our lawful basis is that this is necessary to provide the service you asked for.

We email you about new skills and offers only if you ticked the email box. We call you or message you on WhatsApp only if you ticked that box and gave us a number. Our lawful basis for these is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Who handles it for us

Your sign-up details are stored by Supabase in its London data centre. The email with your link is sent by Resend from its Ireland region. The website is hosted by Vercel. They handle your information on our behalf.

How long we keep it

We delete your sign-up details 24 months after your last contact with us, or straight away if you unsubscribe.

Unsubscribing

To stop emails or calls from us, reply to any email we send you or email dan@doanythingnow.org.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, to delete it, or to stop using it, and you can withdraw your consent at any time. Email dan@doanythingnow.org.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Members' sign-in
